Cooperation with Kasachstan

Meixner and the federal organization of Remote sensing and Space Technology of Kasachstan agreed upon a close cooperation in the field of space technology and remote sensing. On the occasion of the recent visit of our Dr. Harald Meixner in Astana, the capital of Kasachstan, the cooperation was signed with the worldwide well-known cosmonaut Prof Mussabayev, federal minister and also national heroe of Russia and Kasachstan.

The cooperation will include a wide range of scientific and technology exchange as well as training courses in Austria and Germany.

For about 10 years Meixner Consulting Engineers have been successfully assisting the Russian Federation to implement one of the most advanced land administration and land cadastre systems worldwide.

Kazakhstan business trip to Austria

High delegates of the Agency and Ministry of Construction and Housing of Kazakhstan paid a visit to Meixner company in July 2011 as to study the current regulations and procedures related to building permits and construction assessment and control. The Austrian Ministry gave an introduction to the related laws and regulations. President Gobiet (VZI), Dr. H. Schmidt (VCE), Prof. W. Reismann (IC Consulenten) and Prof. Dr. H. Meixner (Meixner Consulting Engineers) gave speeches illustrating the Austrian situation with special emphasis on control mechanism, building permits, tendering procedures and land related matters. Kazakhstan is very interested to study the Austrian and German practice in planning, construction and assessment in all building related activities and intend to implement what they find applicable for Kazakhstan thereafter.

Honorary title „Professor“

Dr. Harald Meixner has been honored for his worldwide activities in the field of land cadastre, teaching at the University in Vienna, research and development as well as vocational training in several national and international institutions.

His Excellency the President of the Republic of Austria Dr. Heinz Fischer, decided to award Dr. Harald Meixner the title “Professor” On the occasion of an elaborate celebration in the Ministry of Education the certificate of installation was handed over recently.”

Presidents Visit to Vienna

President Festus Mogae of the republic of Botswana was visiting MEIXNER company at its headquarters in Vienna.

The talks included a stronger involvement of MEIXNER in the new infrastructure projects in Botswana such as highways and railwaylines as well as other photogrammetric activities.

The delegation was impressed by the high standards and technology offered by MEIXNER. Dr. Harald Meixner was guiding the president and his delegation through the new world of 3D – digital photogrammetry and computer vision.

The delegation expressed its high interest to involve MEIXNER in any future infrastructure project and encouraged the Austrian Consulting Industry to focus more on this fast developing country in the southern African region.

ABU DHABI

Meixner has been selected to assist Abu Dhabi in the evaluation and implementation of a new land cadastre and Property Management.

The 3 Year project includes the development of Land Surveying Specifications, the tendering for a new survey of Abu Dhabi and the coordination of Land Management activities for the fast developing Emirate at the Gulf coast.

High order for Dr. Harald Meixner

On June 3rd 2008 the City of Vienna organized a memorable and warm celebration in the City Hall of Vienna to honour our Dr. Harald Meixner. The deputy Mayor of Vienna, Rudolf Schicker, handed over the awarded order “Silbernes Ehrenzeichen” to Dr. Harald Meixner.

In his laudation the Mayor expressed his high appreciation for the exceptional honours and the work Meixner has been performing during his long lasting and extremely successful national and international activities in the field of aerial and field surveying, photogrammetry, and consulting. The contributions of Meixner since the company’s foundation some 80 years ago are numerous and to the benefit of the City.

Meixner expressed his gratitude to this exceptional honour. In his remarks he drew also the attention to the founder of the company, his father Dr. Erich Meixner, who would have been now nearly 100 years of age. Meixner underlined that he understands this award also as a sign of gratitude to all experts in the City working in the field of Surveying, including the private companies, the City’s administration and the governmental agency for Surveying and Mapping.

The audience consisted of some of the most excellent representatives of the City of Vienna and the Republic of Austria such as the former Chancellor Dr.Vranitzky, the former Minster for Justice Dr.Michalek, the president of the assembly of Vienna, several deputy mayors and delegates to the government and city of Vienna, leading architects, engineers, colleges, friends and members of the Meixner family..
